LANGKAWI: The legendary Island trip!

Bismillahirrahmannirahim.
Assalamualaikum!

Hi!..just got back from a family trip..

My dad needed to attend a seminar at Langkawi (well, of course we tagged along!) ..Sooo thrilled for given the chance to explore Langkawi once again. A privilege of army's children <-- tetiba promote korang jadi askar la camni. But mum and dad headed there first though. Me, adik and Aiman went later :)

Langkawi

Known as the legendary  Island. This title claimed as per its folklores and local myths: the famous Mahsuri to name a few. Duty-free zone is not the only attraction there apparently...from friendly locals to mouth-watering local food (Laksa!) plus, great attraction spots too! A must one-stop-holiday trip :)

Quikies:

>> Where LIMA is held annually.>> The paddy plantation still maintains the traditional method (harvested twice a year)
>> Hot weather: bring clothes with fabric of cooling material  :/ (cotton)
>> A tourists' hotspot  --> the busiest during public holiday, so if possible...ehem, AVOIIDDDDDD!

Yeah you can go there by cars..plane..etc etc. But I'm recommending journey by train!..whoop2. Sounds hassle?..here's the reason why not to:

1. An Eco-friendly medium. Traveling while saving the environment, how cool is that? ;D
2. Enjoy the scenic panorama of northern Malaysia's country-side...while you rest!
3. Cheaper way- 'cause you'll need more money for shopping and the food! :DD

 Reporting......!

First of, done packing?..great! Make sure you have everything. Not just things you need once you're in Langkawi..but make sure to cater for the whole journey's needs entirely!

My fav travel junks! :p
clockwise: a book, sunglasses, make-up pouch, bathing travel kit, purse, planner and HP, wet tissue and hand sanitizer. I'm impressed how these always fit into my handbag :/

Day 1 (Wed, 23rd May):

Pushed-off to Terminal Bersatu Selatan (TBS) station. To KL central by ERL. catching up since the train will depart at 9.30pm!

A series of pics of how lame my photographing skill was.Boo!..ahh.whateverr...trains here (ERL)

 All aboard!

Da start pening lalat daa..terus tido kot. I can't stand moving vehicles..always get dizzy. yeah, that's what they call motion-sickness.Hoh. But i'm ok with plane though.

the journey took about 10hours; from KL to Arau station. So get a good rest. You don't want to miss out watching sunrise of paddy field next morning! ^-^

Day 2 (Thu, 24th May)

Rise and shine..!To arrive shortly :D

.......but sadly it was raining heavily that morning.. ;(

Arau station, Perlis

Catching a cab next!..from the station to Kuala Perlis (jetty) ..this costs around RM24 per taxi.

*Notes*
If you want to bring your own car to Langkawi, then go for Kuala Kedah station. If you opt for just renting a car, then either Kuala Perlis or Kuala Kedah will do ;)

RM 18 per head.
Ferry is available daily and in every one hour.
from jetty to Langkawi is more or less than 2hours of cruising. Enjoy your ride! :p

We're in Langkawi babyyyyyy

Stuff we did!

#1 Cable car riding!

Head towards here (pictured above); to Telaga Tujuh (7 wells) -->Area Tg.Quay...to go for sky-cab riding in Langkawi Geo-park :3 ..*ticket is of half price for Mykad holder..so we got RM 18 per head. Great deal!

Langkawi geo-park entrance.

Sape-sape yang nak buang air ke ape..sila lah berbuat demikian sebelum berhajat nak naek cable car ok.. :pp ..kang memerot dalam kereta tu susah pulak.

Ayuhhhhhhh..!

 Whoahh... :0

Cliff from inside the sky-cab (cable car)

Dad is doing some broadcasting here :p

Wee~the weather was great..! sunny, cool and breezy.. :) it was about to rain..but the sun was still with us. They say weather here is usually sticky hot :0 ..Oh gosh..Alhamdulillah.

That unforgettable panorama :) ..here you may be able to see cluster of tiny islands scattered across the majestic Andaman Sea. The lush green hillies really make this whole view a captivating master-piece!

Tomel nye omak abah den.. :3

Line up for the ride!

The SKY-bridge..uwahhhh. Mark it a MUST-DO! ..snapped this by far once we set foot on the first platform....or was it the second platform? <--forgot!

;( ..huhuuuuu...
that was the reason why I could only managed to snap by-far!

 Up for SkyCab next time?..Yeapp!

#2 Geo-Park Ventures and shopping!

Now, take a hike. Explore Geo-Park! ..there are lots of restaurants..and other activities like Ponny-riding too! :)

You may want to bring some souvenirs home ;) ..but mind you, this isn't a duty free zone.

#3 Tummy-talks!

Don't miss out roadside vendors..they really do serve local delicacies!..provided with the setting of a sea view...was really breezy and just boost up your appetite even more! Plus, the price is wayyyy cheaper. You seriously got nothing to lose ^^ ..but watch out if it's about to rain. They need to start closing or the tables will be blown away by the strong wind..:(

This one is surprisingly addictive!..spicy and aromatic. One is never enough ;) ..and ouhh...you'll never need to worry to go for second or third round. Laksa is definitely a healthy option for the weight-conscious ^^

Pasumbor....itadakimasuu~!

Laksa Festival!..but we went back on 25th.. *tch*

#4 Just a brief walk- And some photosnaps

Just reached the hotel. Wow..luckily it wasn't raining yet at Geo-park :0

Haaa..once the rain stopped, we (which were only me and Aiman apparently)
roamed Awana Porto Malai for some lousy photoshots! ..tadaa~~..I rrrreally love the design and concept of the buildings here....the Italian details are just so classic! *love*

Pic 1: it's another 9651 KM to Frankfurt?...PASS!  Pic 2: The light-house...! Might be the hotel's signature.

FYI:
The light-house is attached to the grand suite of Awana Porto Malai. The room rate was RM 2000 per night..whoahhhhhh! ..and this suite is reserved for VVIPs ONLY (the Sultans, PM, Foreign Royalties like Sultan of Brunei...etc etc) ..they have about five suites in total if wasn't mistaken.

For not knowing that 'fact' yet, me and Aiman went on a quest to find access to that place. 'cause we were just so eager to get the view of being inside a light-house! :D  (yeah, it was quite a quest since it was really complicated to find!...VVIPs have their special 'tunnel' anywayyy..)

BUT..!

After a lot of askings and trial-errors and some embarrassments ...we managed to find the right entrance :3 (okay, so liberated!) ..so the 'Grand' door was seen open...and we peeked in to see some cleanings were in progress...the person in-charge (herein i'll just use 'uncle'..!) quite puzzled to see our presence there .. :p Sebab tak tau pun bilik tu restricted only for those guests..ahaa. Harus la uncle pelikk. Da laa maen terjah masuk. Hohh..malu aku sebab terjah dengan paling sungguh-sungguh.

Me: Mak oii...besa nye.
Aiman: Assalamualaikum Uncle, ehe...bole masuk ke ni?
Uncle: Bole...lagi pun sebab kitorang ade kat sini buat cleaning..masuk la.
Me: ehe. Thanks uncle
Aiman: ehe. terima kasih eh bang.
Uncle: ehe...  (??)

Haa kau.

And that's why i can put these pictures here ;) ..

Day 3 (Fri, 25th May)

Heading back..now at Jetty Kuah. ready for cruising back.. ;) Bye langkawi~ And the next stop was..Bukit Merah, Perak :3 ..berseronok nye la aku. Padahal Ahad tu (27 Mei) ade interview TESL :0

 FIN.

I'll work on Bukit Merah anytime soon..kalau kerajenan tu ade datang :p
Thanks for reading and Happy Holiday untuk adik-adik sekolah.Chewahh :pp
Take Care.
