Padi House Restaurant, Putrajaya

Assalamualaikum...hi all!

Since I'm officially married to my job now, eating out (lunch-time) is always like easy-peasy-quick-simple-fatty meal. Yes fatty. You need some fats to get you go round and about no? I would say I neglected my diet a lot nowadays. If not because of my mode of transport to work is the LRT- yeaapp.marching to and fro helps burning those fats again thank goodness :'D - I would have been breeding fats by now!

So to kickstart a u-turn in my diet programme (mind you,the overall objective is towards healthier me,not solely to lose weight :)), I think I have to reward myself with a good time-out with my girlfriend which to help her on her new batch clothing collection photoshoot set in Moroccan Pavillion Putrajaya (This will come in another entry of course ;)) ..and alsooo to try out at The Padi House restaurant in Putrajaya too :)

So a bit teasers about this restaurant; a restaurant which I find cotemporary and modern with a classy touch to it...there are around five branches if i'm not mistaken, but I'm only familiar with Putrajaya and Cyberjaya branches. I personally love Putrajaya outlet better since it gives more privacy and space :), compared to the latter which is so much more noisy and crowded and since it is open-air base, there is no seperate zone for smokers :(

So my review will be based on these aspects; setting, menu and service :)

#1 Setting

I love the setting of the restaurant; seperated zones for smokers and non-smokers. So basically the dining sets are clustered into three different theme; Open-air, coffee tables (with sofa dude..sofaa) and the ordinary dining tables. So below here are the sneak-peeks.

#2 Menu

Aaaaaaah..food glorious food :) I like that how the restaurant themed so well with class and modern yet we can have food varieties; from Asian palates (local, vietnamese, thai etc) to western options like steaks, grilled and Mexican food too :) ...and the price is tolerable - not something you would go everyday though, but for weekend treats will be a great pleasure :) for main course, price ranges from RM12 to RM30.

Seriously, if you dare try Secret Recipe before, this one will be about the same price range (maybe cheaper i think) but with mooore varieties on its menu!

From the top left (clockwise) ...Eggplant Pasta with Meat sauce (MYR15.90), Frozen Yogurt Cheese (MYR7.80), Vietnamese Chicken Chop Rice (MYR14.90), Fries (MYR6.90)....and I only had Plain water (MYR2.00) and Honeydew Juice (MYR5.50) for drinks :)

I wish I did snap a close-up for each meal we ordered......but I don't know..just one bite and the food vanished :/ (lol)

Eggplant Pasta with Meat sauce (MYR15.90)
Simple and savory meal. The pasta and egg-plant are tender to taste. Tangy meat-sauce with subtle spiced to it. Love~!

Vietnamese Chicken Chop Rice (MYR14.90)
On the plate; Coleslaw, grilled-chicken, fried egg, two-spring rolls with signature Vietnamese sauce. I so love this Asian platter! :D I especially love the sauce - sweet, tangy, lemony sauce with a light splash of fish-sauce..well it's not Vietnamese if it's not fish sauce :) ..

Frozen Yogurt Cheese (MYR7.80)
Light-weight cheese cake with rich cream icing. Very light with just-right sweetness :)

#3 Service

Not exactly the 5-star service from the staff..but I think they are doing just fine.

I wish they provide more plug points too as I personally gonna love having doing my work whilst having lunch :) ...and did not notice whether they have free wifi access.Hmm..

So I guess that's all for the review. I sure will revisit this restaurant and highly recommend it for a get-together occasions with friends and families :).. If any of you have your own experience in The Padi House do let me know in comments below yaa.

The Nyonya House Restaurant review!

Assalamualaikum, howdy y'all ^^

Wow, how long has it been since I last posted an entry again?? Gosh..my 2015 resolutions really gone wrong once more.grrrrrrrr!! [><]…(posting one blog entry per week?...pffft.yeah right aisyah). When did I lose my passion for writing??....I feel very old :'( *tissue please!*

But here's the deal now, I am definitely seriously going to post an entry every week (..and maybe two weeks per entry.heh) ..........challenge accepted!

                                                           * * * * * * * * * *

Hope in the next post I could come up with a more exciting intros (crossing-fingers not to go all ranting over my frustrations again.haha!)

Ehem. Okay.

So I went on checking the new lifestyle megamall in KK city - Imago (not sure if it is "Mega" enough but I just feel like it sounds more awsome..hehehh.so there; Imago MEGAmall fer youuuh) just next to her sister 'KK Times Square'. Imago was great - It has this chic and lux motives that really embrace modern contemporary lifestyle concept, neat and spacious - I never really have good sense of space. I like it and probably my faved outing spot thus far. Except for its parking lots..not sure why, just don't like it.there.

Running out of juice and the tummy demands for attention and the brain switched to zombie-mode...(literally went zombie-ish brazen for foooooooood)..The LG floor is the food-haven. I don't know how the zombie-me went through all the temptations without biting on people :p ..to make it short, suddenly,.....tadaaaaaa~ "Nyonya House" just caught my attention. This tastebud probably has sudden crave for authentic Asian cuisine. The name says it all - a house of Baba and Nyonya delicacies. I've been looking for chances to have decent Baba Nyonya tastes.. :)

First of, this review will touch on three components; Interior, menu and their service :)
Yuuhuuuu.....welcome in :)

#1- Interior

Intricate and classic details. Feels so much like my Mom's kampung :)

When we arrived there it was already fullhouse - crowded. So the taste must be great I reckoned :)) ..the entrance breathed grande culture-rich Baba Nyonya mansion- quite a welcoming facade....My dad just briskly flipped on the menu at the entrance and.... "Ok.Makan sini" and dashed in.. hehe..

The dining tables are huge, sturdy, heavy and comfy...one that probably came out from antique furnitures store...the table is aokay..just that I find it a bit too large for us four- all tables there are six seaters...or was it eight?

#2 - Menu

Ahhhh....my favourite part..what's a food review without food right?..just like doughnut without its dough (#ehh?)...

We flipped through the menu..and to be honest everything looks oh-so-mouth-watering~~~drools~~!

There were ala carte meals which came in in much more affordable prices (about RM15 - RM20)..but we decided to be more festives by ordering its signature dish: Kari Kepala Ikan Nyonya (Nyonya Fish Head Curry) accompanied by other yummy dishes with fragrant white rice :)

                                                           Kari Kepala Ikan Nyonya

I reckon this is the essence of Nyoya House! Definitely the aroma that flavours the restaurant's air once you stepped in..very aromatic, original and delightfully asian! (if this makes any sense.heh)

Nyonya curry has its unique blend of the East and Southeast Asia.....a twist of tangy, sweet, spicy - very distinctive 'Peranakan' taste! I especially love the final touch of chopped fresh cilantro as garnish :)

 Steam fish....yayyy!:D

Since I officially turned such a health-conscious freako earlier this year (yeah. vain, I know *tsk) I become very fond of diet that consists of fish and veggies (like a lot!)..This meal to me is very hearty *love* ...I love how the dish brilliantly gives out the subtle freshness and natural sweetness of the fish; no fishy smell! and the gravy is simply delicate..like I don't mind having the whole thing for myself and not being guilty about it :)

        Mutton in some special sauce!

As much as I am taking fish diet..I do still have the hots for meat (mutton especially!) ...This dish is just wonderful!..the meat is just tender, not the one that melts in your mouth though- we're not talking about NZ lamb shanks here please..a meaty dish to go with rice is something worth chewing for; so it has to be tenderly cooked, moist, juicy and and not cooked well-done, and flavourful, and I personally love my meat to have a little sweetness too :) ..so this dish is not a let-down..perhaps the special sauce does its trick here? ;) ..savouriness level - TOP NOTCH!

Butter-battered calamari :))

Calamari or squid battered in special crusty coating like when you eat it it goes "kruk krak" ...hehehe. Sweet buttery bread crumbs-like crust shielding the succulent juicy squid inside - yes, juiciness is well retained ;)

 Kangkung Belacan

Oh and finally our veggies - Kangkung Belacan :) Not the healthiest one though...still this goes so well with the other dishes.

#3 - Service

Need to improve the speed though..we ordered our food and waited for more than 30mins for the food to be served. Hmm..but it is understandable since you have to cook upon order (..this is not a fast food restaurant silly me.what am I expecting.lol)

**Some notes to ponder**

1. You may want to be really careful when ordering some dishes especially the one that priced per gram - Tell the waiter to make the portion for each dish only for two persons...or you may ask the smallest portion instead- usually it is half of the fish..still quite ample for 4 people!

2. May be on a pricey side when dining here...hence the above note..or you may want to try out its ala carte menu perhaps? seems like much cheaper to me :)

3. I do not know the kind of fish for the fish dishes I stated earlier..hohoh! So you can always ask them and see which variant sounds best.

4. Remember, the trick is to always ASK FIRST. Please don't be shy about it - or you'll end paying more than what you deserved.

Okay then. I hope you find this review awesomely useful :) ..today marks the 10th day of Ramadhan - still healthy and fit :)) ..Alhamdulillah for this blessing (*this entry actually initiated before the fasting season btw)  I really hope to make more resourceful entries during the blissful month of Ramadhan. Hehe

My my...what an awkward face I'm having there...maybe zombies don't like to take selfie afterall *I'm the one at the most-front :p*

Hope it isn't too late to wish Salam Ramadhan Al mubarak to all my muslim friends. Towards a better self and even a better muslim shall we?. InsyaAllah ^^  byeeee! Assalamualaikum..

Soy Junction Review

Assalamualaikum~..haluuu peeps.

After a sequential on and off from blogging, now I'm back and pretty much alive to present you my reviews on this keeeyuutie new comfort food cafe that was just opened last month ( lf i'm not mistaken) near my neighbourhood : Soy Junction

Yep. The name says it all - Soy glorious soy babyy~ from Soy Pudding, to the classic Tau fu fah...and, ohhhhhh their fluffy signature waffles......nyummmehh!

If you are looking for a place for a quick yet casual friends get-together over drinks....i don't mind recommend this cafe to you...their menu and the ambience can definitely keep your chit-chatting moment going like... "shuuuuuuuuuuuih" (i'm actually micmiking a running tap water sound.similar much?..pfft) ,plus, the price is super aokay

So okay, I bet y'all been waiting for the photos, or rather when i'll finally zip my mouth shut.hahah...below are the photos :)

*Personal Reviews*

#1: Menu variety

There's so much more that soy beans can offer. From tau fu fah, to soy pudding, soy milk drink and their soy pudding with rice balls (glutinous rice ball desert) which comes in two types of fillings; sesame and peanut :) ...I really like their waffles - crispy wispy outside and soft on the inside :)

#2: Affordable - Spend RM20 max and you're stuffed with something good

#3: Setting & ambience

Simply cute :) ...would really be my go-to cafe for some knick-knacks over assignments. It's comfortable..though quite small/less spacious - It probably can't cater many dine-ins customers (i think there is only 3 sets of tables) ...minus the space, while imagining i'm the inly dine in customer, i think this place would be great for casual friends get-together :)

#4: Location (Lake fields, Sg.Besi)

Unless you're early, It won't be a hassle for parking. The parking there is horrendous!

So I guess that's all for my reviews. Toodles!
